How We Print: Behind the Scenes of Our DTF Process
At RM Studio Print, we don’t just make t-shirts — we craft pieces that speak. What sets us apart? Our DTF (Direct to Film) printing process. It’s precise, long-lasting, and built for bold detail. Here’s a closer look at how your design goes from screen to fabric — with zero shortcuts.
1. We Prep Your Design
Everything starts with your chosen graphic. We size, adjust, and clean it up so it’s print-ready. This step is crucial — good design means good results.
2. DTF Print & Powder
We print your design using specialist DTF inks onto transfer film. Immediately after printing, we apply a high-quality powder that bonds with the ink. This powder is what helps your design stick to the fabric — and stay there.
3. Curing for Strength
Next, we cure the design using heat. This step melts the powder into the ink and preps it for pressing. Think of it like “baking” your design — it locks everything in.
4. Pressing the Tee
Once cured, we place the film on your t-shirt and press it with high temperature and pressure. The result? A clean, bold print that blends into the fabric — not a plastic-feeling layer.
5. We Let It Breathe
Here’s what most printers don’t do: we let the t-shirt rest for 24 hours. Why? It allows the ink to fully settle and the fibres too cool. The result is a smoother finish and longer-lasting colour.
6. Final Quality Check
Before anything leaves our studio, we inspect it by hand — no joke. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn’t ship.
💬 Why It Matters
Anyone can press a design onto a tee. But it takes patience, quality tools, and real care to make something that actually lasts and looks premium. That’s what we do — because your style deserves it.
